This is the beginning of a series that will appear in the Magazine.

This story starts with a stallion called Chalk Mtn Nimble Sprite Chalk Mtn Citation x Gordels Royal Victry and a dream…
Sprite inspired my parents to breed Morgans. Totally new to this game but blown away by Sprite’s temperament they started off with their breeding herd consisting of Sprite and two Part Morgan mares; (Tui’s Summer Secret and Secret Moon) both of them having being sired by JMF Royal Secret. A few years later they purchased their first Morgan mare; Armagh Joanna Quietude Goldrush x Mt Tawonga Georgina (affectionately known to us as Flojo)
Flojo and Sprite went on to produce six stunning foals.
Each of those foals were up-headed, forward and certainly attention grabbers when you walked into a paddock full of horses; they had got the best of the genetics out of both of their parents.
Sadly in 2008 Sprite passed away; we were all in shock for quite awhile, but in 2009 the last of his Morgan foals was born… Okereru AJ Hackett.
It took us awhile to get breeding again but last year Hackett was put to Secret Moon. Over the years we have found her to be a good doer who produces very nice foals. Well she did…
Moon’s filly was born last week, and though it is her first week on the ground; (on her very first night it snowed) she is showing all the signs of carrying on all the best of the genetics that her heritage offers her. She is possibly the last Part Morgan foal bred by my parents, as their main aim from now will be to breed Morgans.
So Sprite, you might be gone but you grabbed our hearts like any Morgan does, and you can be sure that your story has not finished as it will continue in not only your progeny but your progenies progeny…
To be continued…
