SIXTH SCHEDULE:-COMPETITIONS

 

 

A.        PERFORMANCE COMPETITION.

AIMS OF THE COMPETITION.

1.                To encourage the owners of Morgans and Part Morgans to engage in open competition.

2.                To recognise HORSES/PONIES competing well in all sections of open competition.

I.                 English Ridden Events and Pony Club Events.

II.               Carriage Driving Events.

III.              Western Ridden Events.

IV.              Endurance Events and/or Competitive Trail.

3.                To recognise the versatility of the breed.

EXCLUSIONS.

1.                Exclusively Morgan classes and shows.

2.                Turnout/Presentation classes.

3.                Driver or Rider classes.

4.                In Hand classes.

RULES.

1.                The competition shall run from 1 June until 31 May the following year.

2.                a.                Entries must be made by members of MHANZ.

b.                Ponies/horses must be registered with the AMHA or MHANZ.   Register,  Registration Number and Registered Name of the horse/pony must be included on the entry form.

3.                The Entry fee shall be that prescribed by the Committee per horse / pony which is payable on application for entry from the Competition Organiser.

4.                The completed Entry forms and Score cards to be returned to the address on the Entry Form not later than 14 June each year.

5.                The forms may be returned to the Competition Organiser at any time during the year to be entered on the computer.   Competition results should be accompanied by a copy of the results of the competition or the name and address of the Event Convenor for verification.

6.                All classes and competitions to be Under Saddle or in Harness.   Points to be gained at all recognised A&P Shows,  competitions affiliated to A&P Societies,  Hunter Trials organised by any Hunt Club,  Horse Society competitions and OPEN Pony Club / Driving Club events and Gymkhanas,  other Shows,  Sports Days,  etc.,  provided they are for OPEN COMPETITION.

7.                The competition is open to Stallions,  Mares and Geldings 4 years and over.

8.                Any horse/pony sold during the competition year may have points gained before the sale transferred with the horse/pony on application,  provided the new owner is a member of MHANZ.

9.                The committee reserves the right to delete any horse / pony that it considers ineligible for the competition and to check results with shows if it considers it necessary.


 

SECTION I.   ENGLISH RIDDEN EVENTS.

TABLE 3

1                    Three day event.   Dressage and overall points will both be scored.

2                    One Day event.   Overall points will be recognised.

3                    Dressage.

4                    FEI Show Jumping.

5                    Hunter Trials.   Point to point.

6                    Combined Training.   Marks as for overall placing.

7                    Show Hunter.

TABLE 2

1.             Round the ring jumping.

2.             Working hunter.

3.             Handy Pony - Pony Club Pony.

4.             Gymkhana events and Open Ribbon Days.

5.             Pony Club teams events.

6.             Show Classes e.g. Paced and Mannered,  etc,  Games Days.

7.             Games Days.

8.             Leading rein pony.

SECTION II.   DRIVEN EVENTS.

TABLE 3.

1.         One to three day NZDS affiliated events.   Each phase counts as one contest with the exception of Presentation.

2.         Dressage.

3.         Obstacles – Scurry.

TABLE 2

1                    Non NZDS affiliated One to Three Day Events.

2                    Scurries / Gamblers stakes.

3                    Show classes.   E.g. Paced and Mannered,  etc.

4                    Gymkhana events,  Open Ribbon Days,  and Games Days.

5                    Ride and Drive.   Points will be awarded in each phase.

SECTION III.   WESTERN RIDDEN EVENTS.

Points in this section are awarded according to the "New Zealand Western Riding Federation" Rule Book.

SECTION IV.   ENDURANCE / COMPETITIVE TRAIL RIDING / DRIVING EVENTS.

Copies of Qualifying Certificates gained in these events should be forwarded to the competition organiser so that points can be awarded.

Competition to run in two divisions:-

a.                Ridden.

b.                Driven.

The number of competitors in the class is down the left hand side of the sheet containing the scoring tables and the placings are listed across the top of the page.   Use this sheet to calculate the score to be credited to you.
